SESÁ for children of all ages
It all takes place in a single day. The action unfolds to reveal space. A man and a woman hide a feather, a birthday present for their son, inside a box. They plan on giving it to him that night when he goes to bed. When they open the box the feather has disappeared. They search for it, they find it, and ultimately the feather’s weight fulfills it function: it balances out the world.
Water, earth, wind and fire. Four elements represented by four sounds: saxophone, cello, guitar and percussion, each of which sings and tells a tale. Together, water, earth, wind and fire complete the story and become something new, Sesá, a being made of all four elements. The show’s narrative theme is structured on hands manipulating matter as a source of human imagination.

The Tyl Tyl Theatre and Music Company was founded in 1984 and its prime objective is to create scenic art specifically for children and young adults. The company’s name, Tyl Tyl, was taken from a character in their first production, Maeterlinck’s The Blue Bird, and has accompanied them throughout more than 40 productions in over 20 years.
The company’s unique style revolves around two fundamental ideas.
Firstly, the company views the concept of artistic creation as a coming together of different forms of artistic expression: music, theatre, movement and fine arts. These diverse languages converge on stage and characterize the company’s distinctive style.
Secondly, the company considers the relationship between art and education essential. Thus, the group is made up of musicians-actors that combine their artistic work with direct research in the teaching of artistic expression.
Throughout these years, The Tyl Tyl Theatre and Music Company has put on around 6000 shows:
- In their own centre, the Tyl Tyl Theatre, for over 30,000 school children
- In theatres within the city of Madrid, such as The School of Fine Arts and The Principe Theatre
- In theatres around the city of Madrid
- On tour throughout Spain
- At diverse theatre festivals, among others at Feten (European Theatre Fair for Boys and Girls) in Gijon, Asturias, Teatralia (Scenic Arts Festival for Children and Young Adults ) in Madrid, Zamora’s TeVeo Festival, and The Smallest of All Festival in Sabadell
The company has also played abroad in theatres such as the Cervantes Theatre in Buenos Aires, and has been invited to take part in international festivals such as the Necochea Festival in Argentina and the Cali Theatre Festival in Colombia.
